Our trip to Dallas...

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

Our trip down to Dallas went amazingly smooth! Babies were their angelic selves and did amazingly well trapped in a car for 2 days! Although now that the trip is over, every time we get them in their car seats, they are none too happy... I think we scarred them for life. We had a late start since the movers took MUCH longer to load than anticipated so instead of leaving Monday, we left tuesday morning instead. We stayed in Louisville with family Monday night and drove from Louisville to Little Rock on Tuesday. We planned feed time and nap times out with our stops and when we stopped, we always did so at rest stops, and laid a blanket out on the grass and let the babies roll and play for 20 mins or so before we kept on going! They were GREAT! We made lots of phone calls to hotels in the Little Rock area, looking for places that had TWO cribs... I have to admit I am a bit of a hotel snob, so trying to find a nice place with two cribs was challenging BUT we found a great place and camped there for the night! There was a restaurant attached to the hotel we were staying at so we had dinner brought up to our room and then had breakfast at the hotel the next morning before about a 5 or 6 hour drive to Dallas! It was the craziest thing... leaving Little Rock, it was 70 degrees and by the time we arrived in Dallas it was in the 30s!!!!! They had a huge storm bring cold air in, just for us! The trip was a blast and we enjoyed that time together as a family starting our new chapter...
